Hawaii.com editor Sarah Burchard oversees content on our digital platform and is also a Honolulu-based food and travel writer. Born in San Diego, Sarah spent most of her life living in San Francisco – where she was a chef and artisan business owner – before moving to O’ahu in 2017. She writes about Hawaiʻi restaurants and ingredients, local art and how to learn more about Native Hawaiian history and the different cultures that make up Hawaiʻi’s kamaʻāina. Sarah tends to hide out in coffee shops more than hitting the beach, but, other than yoga, her favorite exercise (and spiritual practice) is still swimming in the ocean. Sarahʻs work can also be found at Forbes.com, Hana Hou Magazine, Hawaiʻi Magazine, Honolulu Magazine/Frolic Hawaiʻi, FLUX Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Farm & Food, Violet Magazine, Living Magazine and more. She has been writing professionally since 2018 and is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
