Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi is a moving Memorial Day ceremony held each year at Ala Moana Beach Park. Thousands of people gather at sunset to float lanterns into the ocean in remembrance of loved ones and to reflect on hopes for peace and compassion.
The event welcomes residents and visitors from around the world and features music, cultural performances, and messages of remembrance before the lanterns are released into the water at sunset.
