If you’re traveling to Kauaʻi for beach activities, kayaking or hiking, summer is the best time to visit. The weather is warmer with less rain and trails or activities often closed during the rainy winter months are back open.
Aloha kākou,
Summer in Kauaʻi. What could be better? If you love outdoor activities like I do, it's the place to be this time of year. Kauaʻi was the first Hawaiian Island I fell in love with, over 15 years ago. I visited every year for about six years, driving West and North along the coast, stopping for roadside huli huli chicken and poke, listening to Jawaiian tunes on the radio. We watched the sunset every evening sitting on the wall by The Beach House and drive up to Hanalei for dinner at Bar Acuda. I shopped at farmers markets, so I could eat a plate of fresh tropical fruit every morning for breakfast. We took the snorkeling tour of Nā Pali Coast three times (my partner at the time had company perks). Mostly, I loved hearing the sound of the rain and roosters from bed every morning.
For all of Kauaʻi's luxury resorts that may be out of reach for most, there are plenty of cozy budget hotels that, although older and less glamorous, are still in ideal locations and contain an old Hawaiʻi charm you don't always experience at a newer, more modern resort. It's all about getting outside anyway.
If you're spending your summer on Kauaʻi, lucky you! Have a wonderful time.
